Pavel Cisler (sp?) who is guy who made BeOS' Tracker and Deskbar is now
working
for Eazel. So I'm sure nautilus will kick ass when it's finished:-)
BeOS has realy great GUI, realy clean and fast, very easy to use.
IMHO that is GUI that should be used as a inspiration for improving of
GNOME.
Windows GUI is (again IMHO) very clumsy, and that's why I dislike KDE, it
is too
Windows-like for my taste :-)

One more thing. I installed Helix Gnome and I found it very nice. Is it
possibile in a future
to make that panel in top of the screen to act like in MacOS? Right now,
when I launch
app and make it maximaze I have one panel at top, then app's status bar,
then "File, Edit..." bar,
then apps menu bar, and on bottom GNOME's panel. That is too much waste of
screen space.
Autohiding of panes is not perfect solution, 'cause accessing something on
them makes additional
mouse movement and one extra mouse click.
And finaly, let me say that I'm amazed of quality of GNOME apps. PAN,
Spruce, Gnumetric, AbiWord,
GnomeICU,...... are all excellent apps. Linux is very, very close to become
great desktop OS.
