That is incorrect. The "look&feel" of a desktop can not be
copyrighted/patented:)
Thats why you have hackers who are "clean room" (haven't seen MacOSX
code) and imitate it /exactly/. Thats what the Harmony (a.k.a freeQT)
project was doing.
I believe there /is/ code underway for a gdk-pixbuf theme engine already.
Or you might consider hacking your own
