I've a similar (but not the same) problem, which nobody could answer
by now:
Double-clicking on an existing MIME-type works fine, but adding a new
one doesn't have any effects at all. I've defined a new MIME-type
"application/wordperfect", .wpd as extension and typed in the program
name (with or without path didn't matter) in the "action"-fields. When
double-clicking on a .wpd file I'm asked to choose an application to
use anyway.
Hoping for help,
joachim
