As the subject states, I have a Yamaha OPL3-SA sound card. I'm having a few
small difficulties with stuttering sound. For instance, if I enable the
gnome desktop sounds, instead of getting one bell ring, I'll get about 5 or
6. I have the same problem if I run only Enlightenment or Sawfish. However,
in KDE, I experience no problems at all.
What controls sound in Gnome? Is it Esound? I have no problems playing
MP3s, CDs, or anything else. However, I *have* noticed that if I use XMMS
and select the ESound driver instead of OSS, I experience similar problems,
so this is what leads me to believe it may be Esound causing the problem.
Is the proper place to report a problem with Esound? If not, could someone
point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Ray Swaim
