The most likey cause is that gmc has stopped. Do 'ps -u <your_user> | grep
gmc" to check. Or you can just try to start it again by typing "gmc" in a
console.
If that solves the problem, go to Control Panel and select "Save current
session" under "Session" to have the change be permanent.
