Desktop Icons and Context Menus

I seem to have found a way to disable my desktop icons and the
context menus that are supposed to come up when I right mouse button
on the desktop. I am using Mandrake 7.2, Gnome, and Sawfish. Does
someone have an idea of what I might have done to cause this
situation, and more importantly, what I might do to restore the icons
and menus? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
