In the manual says how to change the default color depth, is as easy
as adding a line "DefaultColorDepth 32" in the Screen section. Of
course, RTFM for full effect and other options (like checking that I
do not answer wrong).
You can also change the place where X starts (/etc/inittab ?) so it
runs "X -bpp 32" instead of plain "X".
Read a bit and IMO you will have the problem fixed soon, and knowing
what you do.
