We switched the mailing list software over to Mailman about a week
ago. You are apparently referring to a copy of the help message
for the old mailing list software.

If you send a help command again, you'll get the help text for the
new software, which should be more helpful.

You should have been mailed your password when we switched the mailing
list over, but if no longer have that, you can ask for it to be mailed
to you by going to:

  http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-list

Sorry for the slow response - I've been busy with a Pango
release over the last few days and haven't gotten the
rest of the people up to speed on replying to gnome-listadmin
mail yet.
