gnome-lib

Hi, this should be simple [but scary for me]. I have RH6.0 installed
back when it came out on a Pent133 with gnome running. I want to install
gnumeric 0.34, but during configure it could not find certain gnome
libraries [i.e. error could not find gnome-lib]. I downloaded it, but if
I install them, will it affect my present installation of Gnome?
