Hi
When I upgraded to XFree86-3.3.5 my mouse became slooooow
I went back into XF86Setup and changed the mouse sample rate it made all
the diff.
you could also just open /etc/X11/XF86Config file and change the Section
"Pointer" SampleRate to something like 60? to start then restart X
