Cannot build gnome-libs (misses __register_frame_info)

Hi.

Trying to build gnome-libs-1.0.12 from the tarball using 'rpm -bb'.
It barfs late in the install phase:

./libgnome/gnome-gen-mimedb /var/tmp/gnome-libs-root/usr/etc/mime-magic
gnome-gen-mimedb: error in loading shared libraries
: undefined symbol: __register_frame_info

What is this frame_info thing? Compiler is pgcc-2.91.57. Redhat 5.2.

Another question: It seems I cannot do a 'rpm -tb tarball.tar.gz'.
RPM complains with:

Name field must be present in package: (main package)
Version field must be present in package: (main package)
Release field must be present in package: (main package)
Summary field must be present in package: (main package)
Group field must be present in package: (main package)
License field must be present in package: (main package)

It works if I put the tarball in /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES, extracts
the .spec and use 'rpm -bb' on the spec.
