gnome-terminal crashes app

Gnome-terminal 1.0.39 from october Gnome crashes an app
that needs a terminal to work in.

The app opens and appears to be waiting at it's prompt but
has already exited. Typing an app command at the prompt gets
a reaction from the bash shell that the command is not known.

The app works perfectly in Eterm, xterm and rxvt.
It also worked perfectly in previous versions of gnome-terminal.

It also does not work in gnome-terminal 1.0.51 included in the
gurulabs gnome 1.0.50 RPM's (in gnome-terminal 1.0.51 "--geometry"
was broken so that I never used it).

Are there still problems with gnome-terminal? 
Can anybody give me some hints to get some info on what is happening?


PS. Why is gnome-terminal 1.0.39 included in october Gnome while
    gnome-terminal 1.0.50 was included in the earlier gurulabs rpm's.
