Gnome Core compile failure

Per the request;)
On making gnome-core-1.1.0 I get:
/usr/local/lib/gdklib_pixbuf.so: undefined reference to
`art_pixbuf_new_rgb_dnotify`
/usr/local/lib/gdklib_pixbuf.so: undefined reference to
`art_pixbuf_new_rgba_dnotify`
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
compiled version of gdk-pixbuf-0.3... seemed to work without a hitch, Im
gonna recompile it now, any ideas?
