Nils,

I had some problems with applets that installed themselves in
/usr/local/share/applets (or /usr/share/applets) instead of
/opt/gnome/share/applets where they belong on my system (SuSE 6.1).

Are you certain that the .desktop files (and the .gnorba files too) for the
applets you want to run are in the proper directory?
