Well Owen's perl ORBit bindings may be a start.  There is also PyORBit
(http://theopenlab.uml.edu/pyorbit/), but it is quite new and does not
have the dynamic stubbing capabilities at the moment, so may not be quite
as well suited to this at the moment.

There is also another scripting language called corbascript which may be
worth looking at.  It does not use ORBit though, so it may be difficult to
get it to do goad and gnorba which would be desirable in GNOME.
