Idea for a shared calendar implementation...

I know a lot of people have suggested that a shared 
calendar would be a killer groupware app. I was wondering
if anyone has any experience with MCAL - Modular Calendar 
Access Library? It looks quite sane, is programmed in 
C and is licensed under LGPL.
