Some miscellaneous problems with Gnome

Hi,

I have a couple of niggling problems with Gnome I'd like to get rid of:

1) I'm attempting to get my gnome-terminals to open with a different default
geometry. I know I can use the --geometry option, however I would like for
the terminals opened via the File/New/Terminal menu to appear with the new
geometry. I've tried setting the GnomeTerminal*geometry resource, but it
seems to have no effect. If there is some method of getting this behavior I
would appreciate knowing about it. (I've also noticed this same behavior
with gmc, are these bugs?)

2) Currently I'm unable to change icon's appearance in Gnome. This applies to
general files as well as icons created as desktop shortcuts. I can bring up
the dialog, change the icon, but when I press 'OK', no change is actually
made. Pretty frustrating.

I'm running an unstable Debian system, including libgnome,gnome-core version
1.0.54, gnome-terminal v1.0.54, and gmc v4.5.40. My window manager is Window
Maker v0.61.0, compiled with Gnome support. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

MBG
