In case anybody is interested I've made my tv viewing applet available.
I'm lazy, so you need v4l-setup from xawtv if you want to use overlay
mode, and you can't change channels. VCR's through a/v in work much
better. It does work with b/w quickcams and may work with the original
color quickcam if you happen to have one of those. 

Things probably won't work with X in anything but 16 bit mode. Hey, what
do you expect for 0.1.0? ;)
