Use gmenu to add entries into your user menu, or switch the main menu back
on and the find the item you want right cick -> Add this to personel menu.
However you do it - get your user menu how you want your 'normal menu'
then point the normal menu at the dir .gnome/apps/ (this is where the user
menu info is stored)
I think this will acheive the effect your after?
