It is a bit obscure - but I do have a genuine reason:
I run an X server here on my NT (my job alas) machine, and connect to
the Linux box I have sitting near to me. It also runs an X server
itself.
The X server on the NT machine is one of these clever 'Windows will be
your window manager' ones, and I quite like having a corner panel
sitting around for when I want to do something on the Linux box but
can't be bothered to go over to it. That's all I want in the session
though.
On the Linux box itself I want a session that's got E, a full edge panel
jam-packed with applets, gmc etc etc.
So that was why I wanted to know how to select a session. However - I
realised that I don't want to be restricted to just one at once, so that
I can leave my NT X server logged in if I go and use the Linux box
itself.
Anyway, I can work around it by using two users, so don't worry :)
