Thanks, but that didn't work. What am I supposed to put in the "remote
name" field in the "Authentication" tab? I tried putting my server name
(shadow.net) there, but that didn't do the trick.

I can use the ifup script from the account from which I'm trying to use
gnome-ppp, so I don't think this is the problem.
