Has anyone considered pulling the custom menu code into plugins? Then it
would be simple to add a file manager plugin menu.

Now the new developments cycle is soon to start (1.1.x) I
think that
it would be nice if we started to organise the gnome website
a little
For instance try to organize some of the small/big projects
by
setting up pages on the www.gnome.org server.
For instance: (A lot of different people need access to the
different subdomains)
www.gnome.org/office -- Information about the office progs,
gnumeric
guppi, bonobo, etc
www.gnome.org/core -- Information about the core parts of
gnome, like
the panel, with an applet section, etc. where people can
coordinate
applet work, etc. (quicklist_applet, gnomeicu, geyes, etc.)
www.gnome.org/wishlist -- A wishlist database, just like the
KDE team has
www.gnome.org/wm -- Information about enlightenment, the GTK
wm to come,
window manager hints, etc. Everything regarding wm's and
gnome
www.gnome.org/future -- Information about whats going to
happen with gnome
in the current development cycle and the next, etc.
This way a lot of people can get a subdomain (together with
others) on
www.gnome.org. And then it's easy for developers to find
someone having
maybe the same ideas, etc.
Just an idea though, Kenneth.
btw, I would really like gnome to have a quick
filemanagement applet like KDE
