I have similar problems: I´ve installed libpng 1.0.2 and a ./configure says to me
that I must change to libpng 1.0.1 or others. Then I´ve installed the version 
1.0.1 but there is the same problem again. Configue thinks I´ve installed
version 1.0.2!

Can anyone help me?
