In the source distribution, there should be docs/gdm-manual.txt.  If you
installedan RPM, it'll probably be in /usr/doc/gdm*

Yep.  Add enlightenment to the screen preparation script, and gdm.conf has an
entryfor the path of the gtkrc file to use (which controls themes).
