Ok, you did a good bug report, but it is not quite complete.

Please, provide stack traces for every crash.

Run gmc inside "gdb" and make the program crash, then type the "where" 
command and send us the output.

Here is a sample session:
bash$ gdb gmc
....
(gdb) run
[here you make gmc crash]
SIGSEGV received.
(gdb) where

And you mail us everything.
