missing feature in gnome-terminal (or libzvt)

Currently the window size isn't tracked; this leads to problems when I
telnet/ssh/whatever to a system that thinks that "xterm" is 35 or 65 or
etc. lines when gnome-terminal uses (and I prefer for most uses) 24.
