I don't understand. When I right click on a program in the menu it does
offer me the option to add it as a launcher to the panel. Similarly, I can
right click on the panel add have the add new launcher option. Where is
this option missing?

Bulges in the panel? Ack, I wouldn't like that, but maybe some folx would.:)
