RH 5.2 - glic-2.1 - gnome

I have read the new rh 5.2 installation page but it does not mention
that glibc 2.1 is a requirement.

Can some confirm or deny that glibc-2.1 is required for a gnome 1.0
installation on rh 5.2 with the current crop of rpms
