gmc scans /etc/fstab, not /mnt. The version you have does not follow
symlinks in /dev, so you might want to change the /dev/cdrom in your
/etc/fstab to the actual device that /dev/cdrom links to. Or wait
for the next release, because this is fixed in cvs :)
