Stick an & on the end of the "enlightenment" rather than commenting it out.

Then it runs in the background, and Gnome takes control of when you log out 
(i.e. you select "Log Out" in the Panel menu.)  If you want to log out with the 
Exit selection in Enlightenment, put "panel&" before "enlightenment" in there, 
so the exiting of the enlightenment process ends the script.

It's the script waiting to finish that holds your X session up =O)
