I believe he had the same problem I did.. just a grey screen and a mouse
pointer?  Well.. I have yet to cure that damn problem :(  I'd like to give
gnome a serious try but this is killing my chances.   When I installed RH5.2 I
don't remember giving my machine a name.. how can I find out?
