Where do apps go when you click the minimize button?

Hi everyone,

I'm a gnome newbie, and I have scoured through documentation, but ther is no
reference to the buttons on the app title bar, mainly, the "minimize"
buttone (the "_").

When I click that, the application dissapears completely. It doesn't appear
to "minimize" anywhere visually, and either I don't know how to properly
switch between desktops or I just dont know where to look for the minimized
app. I can never find the app that I minimized. Alt-tabbing doesn't work.
(btw, my WM is Enlightenment)

Basically, I just would like to know where the application goes when I click
that button, and how do I get it back?

Also, I've been noticing that the file manager crashes on me a LOT. Mostly
what happens is I right click a file and select delete. The dialogue box
comes up, and half the time when I click "yes" to delete the file, the whole
window dissapears and I've got a nice core file created.

My system is redhat 5.2 (non 2.2.2 kernel, something like 2.0.38 or 34) and
I've just downloaded and installed gnome 1.0. Anyone have any idea why the
file manager is crashing?
