Sounds like you installed control-center from RPM. The control-center
rpm is messed up. Best thing to do, at least for now, is to install
the control-center from tarball, and when you do ./configure, use the
option --prefix=/usr if you're running Red Hat since that will make it
easier to go back to using rpms (which install in /usr/bin, /usr/lib,
etc., by default).
