Just a historical note - xmh was a sort of litmus test for X11 -
a big GUI app that folks actually had to use. One of the developers
of xmh, Terry Weisman, has been an occasional exmh user.
xmh, of course, was written in C using Xlib/Xt.

Anyway, exmh started as a 1200 line Tcl/Tk script and is currently
pushing 30,000 lines of Tcl/Tk thanks to all the wonderful
contributions from its user community.

It would be a fine undertaking to use "glade" and whip up a
user interface in Gnome. Hook that to the MH programs and you'd
have something like the original exmh, perhaps nicer looking.
That's a far cry from where exmh is today, however.

It would be very useful to hook GTK to Tcl (maybe that's been done?)
so you could define button and menu behaviors with Tcl, and then you'd
be on the right track.... As Hal said, "Let me know when its done!"
