unable to connect to server port 35091

Hi! I work with Suse 6.1.
When I try to start GNOME (gnome-session), then I get the error:
unable to connect to server port 35091
This generally means that the programm could not talk to the esound server

But if I type "esd -port 35091 &" I can here some sounds.

Where is the problem ?
