panel bug?

When switching resolutions using ctrl-alt-+/- to a higher resolution,
the panel disappears.  If I return to 1024x768, the panel re-appears.
If I only use one resolution in the screen section of my XF86Config
file, the panel appears correctly.  Anyone else have this problem?  I
searched the bug-tracker but didn't find anything about this issue.  I'm
using a standard RedHat 6.0 distribution.
