gnumeric: fonts

How can I let know gnumeric the installed fonts ?
I keep getting the following error message:
** WARNING **: gnome_font_new_closest: font family Helvetica not found
** CRITICAL **: file gnome-font.c: line 1894 (gnome_get_display_font):
assertion `wpdf' failed.
** ERROR **: Could not load the default font
aborting...
Abandon (core dumped)
I have gnome-print installed.
Source from CVS, updated on 3rd July.
