Hi All,
Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I just joined the list...
When compiling gnome-libs (latest CVS and gnome-libs-0.99.4.tar.gz) I
get the
following error from make:
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../gtk-xmhtml/libgtkxmhtml.la',
needed by `htmltest'. Stop.
make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
and then if I 'make' again:
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../zvt/libzvt.la', needed by
`zterm'. Stop.
make[2]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
and so on. If I continue to 'make', eventually it gets through all of
them. I was running make
with -j2 to run two concurrent compile processes to use both CPUs, and
thought this might
have been the problem, so I tried starting over with 'make -j1' but no
dice.
If I try install what make finally produces, I can run 'panel', but not
gnome-session, because one
of the libraries is messed up:
[eric@dream eric]$ gnome-session
SESSION_MANAGER=local/dream:/tmp/.ICE-unix/25435,tcp/dream:2259
Unable to connect to server port 35091
gnome-session: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so.31: undefined symbol:
gdk_imlib_set_cache_info
Have I totally screwed things up here? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eric
