gmc-4.5.7 startup segfault on Linux/Alpha

Greetings,

When strating up gmc-4.5.7, after displaying the Home directory icon, it
segfaults.  gdb puts the segfault in tree_store_opendir, line 740 of
treestore.c, the command

     scan->sublevel = entry->next->sublevel;

This seems to be called by gtk_dtree_load_path (gtkdtree.c line 112),
