hi,
I'm a new comer to this email
list. I haven't had any previous
'problems' with compiling GNOME.
That is until lately. With
gnome-libs-0.99.0, the libs would
compile seemingly fine with a
couple of warnings here and there,
but 'make install' would fail to
install gnome.h into
/usr/local/include and I would
install it there using 'make
install-includeHEADERS' and things
would be fine. Until I try to
compile other GNOME components,
such as control-center, gnome-core,
gnome-obj, etc. All of which would
give me errors stating that
libgnome and libgnomeui had
undefined references to different
items. Part of this problem for me
was cleared up after I grabbed
gnome-libs-0.99.1 and installed
them along with the newer gnome.h.
Now, when I attempt to compile
control-center, gnome-core,
gnome-objc, etc. the only undefined
references I get prior to each of
them erroring out and terminating
compilation is:
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_uta_from_svp'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_svp_free'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_rgb_fill_run'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_uta_union'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_irect_empty'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_rgb_svp_alpha'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_irect_intersect'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_rgb_svp_aa'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_uta_free'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_rect_list_from_uta'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_uta_from_irect'
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so:
undefined reference to
`art_svp_from_vpath'
Is/has anybody else
experiencing/'ed this problem? If
so, how can I go about rectifying
the situation so that everything
compiles properly?
Thankyou for any suggestions.
