Re: ESD blocks almost every other sound tool




The option in question is "-as X", where X is the number of 
seconds to wait before freeing the sound card, X > 0.  It 
was never made the default option, as it was considered an 
experimental feature.  Plus, if programs are run under 
esddsp, or support esd natively, then we achieve the goal 
of having more than one program able to use the sound card
at the same time.  If programs don't go through esd, you 
will only ever get one sound at a time.
