It's funny you should mention it ;-)
I don't think such a thing exists already for gnome, so I'm midway through
writing an IMAP biff (I don't use POP3 myself).
The protocol bit is working, I'm just adding it to the gen_util_applet
along with the local mailcheck applet, and doing the GUI (well cat&paste
from the local mailcheck).
Give me a few days and it should at least be usable....
