Grey screen with E!

Hey there guys.. I installed GNOME, which comes with
Enlightenment.  Ok got enlightenment unpacked and setup.  ESound is installed
but now when I try to run GNOME, E starts and stops with a grey screen and just
my cursor.  Has anyone  experienced this problem before?  If so, how'd they
solve it?  I'm really anxious to see how GNOME is but it doesn't want to
run..:(
