gnome-libs-0.99.6 and ORBit

Sorry for re-requesting here guys, but I'm seeing a problem that
I think was discussed a while ago.
I am compiling from source tarballs and have the following installed
as per the help doc at www.gnome.org.

freetype-1.1
libaudiofile-0.1.5
esound-0.2.7
guile-1.3
glib-1.1.15 (different from the docs)
gtk+-1.1.15 (different from the docs)
imlib-1.9.2
gtk-engines-0.3
fnlib-0.4
ORBit-0.3.96

On attempting to compile gnome-libs-0.99.6, I get:

I tried an ``ldconfig -v'' and another link, but it still failed.

Something to do with glib/gtk+ perhaps?

Adam.
