ESD problem with quitting Gnome and mpg123

Hi,

I have the problem that esd is still running after quitting Gnome and
blocks the audio output after a Gnome restart because it is still
running.

Is there a way to end esd after quitting Gnome?

I have also the problem that I can not use mpg123 because it say "Can't
open /dev/dsp" while esd is running.
