afaik, you cant drag a file onto a panel button (wish you could tho.. would
be very useful for gimp/ee/gnumeric/netscape/gEdit/etc)..
but the latest gEdit from cvs (and, iirc, the current 0.5.0 release) you can
drag a file from gmc onto the window and it'll open..

maybe you need a newer gtk and/or gmc and/or gEdit
