gmc listing

This is a feature request that will probably have to wait till after the
1.0 release, but the icons in gmc bug me. I find small icons much more
useful than the big chunky things in gmc for example the small icons
mode of MacOS Finder or the List mode of Windows Explorer. This sounds
like I am describing the "Brief" mode, but this just lists the files
down the page rather than horizontally as well.
