libgnomeui

I have gtk 1.0.6 installed from rpms in /usr/lib, and gtk 1.1.15 from source in 
/usr/opt/lib.  Both paths are in my ld.so.conf file.  I installed gnome 0.99.7
from rpms with the --nodeps.  Besides rpm not knowing about the 1.1.15 version
of gtk there were no errors.  Now when I try to start up the panel I get :

[wesley@Dominatus wesley]$ Unable to connect to server port 35091
This generally means that the program could not talk to the esound server
panel: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/lib/libgnomeui.so.31: undefined symbol: gdk_imlib_get_cache_info

And then panel exits.   I'm assuming I need a newer version of libgnomeui, is
that it?  If that's all I need, where can i get it?  I poked around on gnome
and the mirrors, but couldn't find anything.

Any help will be appreciated.
