I use
"-b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-*-*-120-*-*-m-*-iso8859-1" and
also have a background pixel to the left of the "H". But I do not have
one to the left of the "~", so I guess my gnome-terminal (core
0.99.5.1, libs 0.99.5, gtk/glib 1.1.14, thinice-0.3.0) does not have
padding.
