Oh NO! g_get... functions not MT-safe!

Hi,

I'm still trying to compile Gnome on a Slackware 3.6 (libc5 based) system. When
I run autogen.sh in the glib directory, I get the following warning:

                functions will not be MT-safe during their first call because
                there is no 'getpwuid_r' on your system.

Is there any way around that?
